QRG - Taking a Screenshot


This QRG walks through how to take a screenshot on a desktop using the Snipping Tool.


You can launch the Snipping tool from the start menu or on your keyboard. Follow either option below for taking a screenshot.


Using the Start Menu - 


1. Go to the task bar and select the search bar.

2. Search for "Snipping Tool" and select it from the search results.

3. Select Snipping Tool from the left hand column.


4. Select +New to start the screenshot process.


 5. Drag and hold the cursor over the area you'd like to take a screenshot of. Once you've selected your preferred area, un-click from the cursor to take the screenshot.




6. The screenshot will be available in the screenshots folder in the File Explorer.


Using the Keyboard Shortcuts - 


1. Select the windows button, shift, and S at the same time. This may take a moment to load.


2. Drag and hold the cursor over the area you'd like to take a screenshot of. Once you've selected your preferred area, un-click from the cursor to take the screenshot.


3. The screenshot will be available in the screenshots folder in the File Explorer.
