Each workday, full-time non-exempt team members are provided with the option for 2 rest periods 15 minutes in length. To the extent possible, rest periods will be provided in the middle of work periods. Since this time is counted and paid as time worked, team members must not be absent from their workstations beyond the allotted rest period time. Exceptions to this policy may be made according to state law.
All full-time regular team members are provided with one meal period of 30 to 60 minutes in length each workday. Supervisors will schedule meal periods to accommodate operating requirements and will consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Non-exempt team members will be relieved of all active responsibilities and restrictions during meal periods and will not be compensated for that time.
Centerspace will provide reasonable paid break time for nursing mothers to express breast milk after the child’s birth each time the team member has the need to express the milk. These breaks may run concurrently with or separately from regularly scheduled paid breaks. If a nursing mother chooses to express breast milk during an unpaid lunch break, that time will remain unpaid. Centerspace will provide a place to express breast milk, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public. Additional accommodations will be considered by the Talent & Culture department on a case-by-case basis.
