There may be times during employment with Centerspace that team members require a leave of absence due to their own serious health condition(s) or that of a child, spouse, or parent.  As required by federal and/or state laws, Centerspace provides medical leaves of absence without pay to eligible team members who wish to take time off from work duties for this purpose.

Regular, full-time team members who have completed at least 1,250 hours of service during the previous 12-month period and who have completed 365 calendar days of service are eligible to request Family Medical Leave.

A health care provider’s statement must be submitted verifying the need for medical leave and its expected beginning and ending dates.  Team members returning from leave due to their own health condition will be required to submit a health care provider’s statement approving their fitness to return to work.

Please see Addendum A to this handbook for a summary of Employee Rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act.

In the state of Minnesota, team members may be eligible for pregnancy and parental leave regardless of time employed by Centerspace.  Please see Addendum B to this handbook for a summary of Employee Rights under Minnesota Pregnancy and Parental Leave.
